Barr Systems extends its output management offerings for Xerox customers

Gainesville,Fla. - Barr Systems introduces a set of comprehensive solutions to view and reprint Xerox Line Data (DJDE) and Metacode print jobs or transform them into PCL, PostScript, or PDF.

For companies migrating away from channel-attached Xerox printers and needing to preserve their investment in legacy applications, the Barr Enterprise Print Server with BARR/TRANSFORM for Xerox allows them to covert their Xerox Line Data (DJDE) and Metacode files to PCL, PostScript, or PDF for printing, archiving, or viewing on the Internet.

For companies that want to keep their channel-attached Xerox printers, BARR/TOOLS for Xerox lets users view and reprint jobs via print-stream normalization. For example, users can reprint single pages, page ranges, and restart printing from anywhere in the job.

According to Schafer, "we think BARR/TOOLS for Xerox provides a great set of benefits for customers with Xerox printers. It allows them preview jobs before they print and recover more quickly from paper jams."

Furthermore, a powerful new tool in the Barr print management suite of solutions, BARR/PRINT SPLITTER, sends a large Xerox print file to multiple printers, maximizing existing printers and preventing a single printer failure from halting print operations. Large files print more quickly and with greater user control with this offering. The product enables easy management of printer groups and split ranges. Any print job that permits reprint ranges and has a valid page count can be split, and duplex and simplex datasets are supported.
