Barr Systems Announces Web Interface to Control Production Printers

Gainesville,Fla. - Barr Systems introduces a web-based interface option to allow users to remotely control printers and print jobs with the Barr Enterprise Print Server.

BARR/Web Interface is a java application that allows users of the Barr Enterprise Print Server to access the server's U.I. remotely, enabling them to monitor the printers in their print center from the comfort of their office. In addition, users can view text in the print files; pause, cancel and redirect print jobs to different printers, and reprioritize jobs in the queue based on routing criteria.

The Web Interface is completely customizable, allowing you to view only the specific column headers and printers that you require. You also have the added security feature of maintaining control over which printers a particular user is able to view from their workstation.

Free AFP Viewer

Another exciting new offering from Barr is the BARR/AFP Viewer. This viewer is a stand alone product that allows users to view AFP files before sending them to production printers. Printing expenses are reduced, and time savings are gained because users can see mistakes in AFP files before printing. This BARR/AFP Viewer product is available as a free download at barrsystems.com/afpviewer.

The BARR/AFP Viewer faithfully renders fully-composed AFP documents (including text, images, graphics and bar codes). It allows sheet-oriented viewing with support for enhanced N-up. It provides quick random page access, even for very large documents, and allows multilevel zooming.
