BARR/VKM (Visual Knowledge Manager) converts legacy data into viewable and printable formats such as HTML and PDF. With its advanced indexing capabilities, BARR/VKM also lets users search on multiple indices, or decide which indices to use, customizing the entire package. For example, a customer service representative can select account number and line item I.D., and search through the customer statements, backorder and bill of lading reports through multiple months or billing cycles.

Working with the Barr Enterprise Print Server (BEPS), BARR/VKM can connect to almost every legacy host system. BEPS is a PC-based enterprise output management system designed to receive data from multiple sources (e.g., mainframes, AS/400s, TCP/IP hosts, network users) and distribute data to multiple destinations (e.g., printers, report distribution systems, and electronic storage).
