The new solutions give users of the Barr Enterprise Print Server greater flexibility in viewing, printing and managing their print data, resulting in improved control of reprinting operations, reduced print times, more robust printing operations and significant cost savings.

New Print Management Tools for Increased Cost-Effectiveness

For companies that process Xerox Line Data (DJDE) and Metacode files, BARR/TOOLS for Xerox lets users view and reprint jobs, driving Xerox printers at the fastest rated speed with printstream normalization. It also allows reprinting of single pages, or page ranges, and lets users restart printing from anywhere in the job.

A powerful new tool in the Barr print management suite of solutions, BARR/PRINT SPLITTER, sends a large print file to multiple printers, maximizing existing printers and preventing a single printer failure from halting print operations. Large files print more quickly and with greater user control with this offering, which supports ASCII, EBCDIC, Xerox (LCDS and Metacode), and AFP. The product enables easy management of printer groups and split ranges. Any print job that permits reprint ranges and has a valid page count can be split, and duplex and simplex datasets are supported
