Print Stream Conversion : Overview

In an ideal world, the format in which the document is produced matches perfectly with the format supported by the chosen destination.  In reality, this rarely happens.  More commonly, documents are generated in just one format, yet output needs cover several different formats.  For instance, the same document that is originally generated on the host in AFP might have to be sent to an IPDS printer for high speed printing,  a PCL printer for distributed printing, HTML for presentment on the web, and perhaps PDF for archiving or email distribution.
