Barr EOM tightly controls user rights.  This includes who is allowed to print, what they are allowed to print, and where they are allowed to print.  Specific devices can be made off limits to certain users or user groups.  Similarly, printing certain classes of documents can be disallowed. 

With Barr EOM you can monitor every user action.  If someone prints a document they are not supposed to, you will find it in the audit trail.  You can even choose to keep copies of every document printed through Barr EOM.  Your security staff can thus ensure that no confidential documents are being printed inappropriately.

Each user will be presented with an interface that although consistent in look and feel to everyone else’s, will be tailored to the views and functionality defined by your security settings. So if your accounting clerks only have the authority to print reports on certain printers, those will be the only printers viewable on the screens they see. Output such as personnel reports which should only be viewable and printed by management will be hidden from view of unauthorized users even though the file itself may be waiting for release on the same printer that those users may be authorized to use.

In addition, our PrintAnywhere^TM technology allows users to delay printing until they are physically at the device. This ensures that confidential documents are not just lying on the printer, and can thus be potentially seen by anyone who happens to be nearby. Instead, using our technology the user can authenticate at the device and choose which jobs to release for printing. Furthermore, if you don't want to rely on individual users having to decide which documents are confidential, you can create comprehensive rules that force documents fulfilling chosen criteria to be printed securely.
