Send Print Files to Multiple Destinations

	Most of the time a document is designated to go to just one destination. However, there are times when it is desirable to have a document go simultaneously to two or more destinations. Examples include printing while also emailing a document, or printing a document while also routing it for conversion to PDF in preparation for archiving.

 

Use Barr EOM to Send Print Files to Multiple Destinations 

Barr EOM makes it very easy to setup multiple destination routing (broadcast printing). For example, your ERP system may produce a wide range of standardized reports. Some of the reports need to be printed in multiple locations on a wide vareity of printers. Instead of setting up all the printers in your organization on the ERP system, you can all of your output to Barr EOM. Once Barr EOM has the files, it can use criteria such as report name or even content inside the document to determine which printers it needs to send the files to.

On the other hand, let's say that you have a mandate to deliver certain print files by email or post them online. You can configure Barr EOM to connect to the source and capture the print file with no impact on the current workflow. Using Business Rules, you can configure Barr EOM to route the print files to the original printer and convert a copy of that print files into a PDF. At that point, Barr EOM can send the file anywhere you want including printers, email, archive systems, web presentment, and more.
