Paperless.
No... Paper Less

Ins & Outs Staff Editorial

Nearly thirty-five years ago, BusinessWeek magazine offered us a glimpse of the “Office of the Future.” It predicted that word processing and other advances in office automation would push us towards the paperless office. Sometimes organizations print different kinds of documents and then bundle them together manually before delivering them to the final destination. At times organizations print super-sized reports and then separate them by hand before delivering them to the people who need the information. Meanwhile, some organizations manually burst and bundle documents to create a more usable package for their users. By the end of the day, these efforts waste reams of paper and leave employees with an assortment of paper cuts. If this sounds familiar, remember that the year is 2009 and you don’t have to do it anymore!

Barr EOM can help you automate these manual business processes thus freeing up time so your employees can focus on more important projects. We call these features Bursting and Bundling. You may want to take advantage of either one or both depending on your workflow. Before we explore bursting and bundling, we’d like to emphasize that in many cases, implementing these features does not require changes to the legacy systems or applications. This concept is so important, that we feel compelled to say it twice – in most cases you can implement automated bursting and bundling without changing your legacy applications. Okay, let’s delve into these two features.
